So Mya has some new accomplishments this week. Yesterday she finally decided to participate in the "Mya, where's your nose? Can you show Mommy your nose?" game. Malinda has been doing this for months and now Mya smugly points to her own nose. Also my brother informed me she can now find her ears for you if you ask her where they are. She greeted me this morning on the phone with a resounding "DAT!"

I am very tired this week, 2 mornings of up at 4am and this damn cough (which is either bronchial pnumonia or whooping cough) is killing me and now the girls are sick as well. bah. Getting my breaks replaced tomorrow AM and a dr's appt on Monday...Now that I'm in the home stretch its every two weeks.

Mya has a new tooth on the bottom row :) thats 7! She also has a pretty bad cold and was very stuffy last night so we let her sleep with the humidifier in her room....She was very surprised to see her indoor swing/play set this morning and spent a good 15 minutes looking at it and asking "that? that? that?" We also learned that Malinda understands the question "are you done eating?" as she shook her head and said "no no." Good job to my talkative kiddies!

So Kerry did his gracious loser speech a bit ago.....

What really burns me is that one of the people I work with here came out and said "Now I get to call all my Liberal friends and rub it in!" Since when did the fate of the leader of the free world get turned into a sporting event? Its shit like that "look at me I'm a poor winner, I get to call everyone and gloat!" which makes the country even more divided and politics more divisive. You don't see Bush going on TV and doing a hoochie coochie dance in the white house "end zone", pulling out a Sharpie from his $10,000 suit and signing "GW" on the decl of independance and giving it to his mamma now do you?

No, you get the "Kerry was a good opponent, blah blah blah" speech and every thing goes back to normal.

Its a small wonder that no one in politics can play nice when normal people (like the guy I work with) is happier that he gets to rub it in to his friends that his guy won, then the fact his guy won-very very sad.
Mail me!

Well all signs point to Kerry losing by a small margin. Which really scares me morally. I tend to vote my moral opinions vs personal ones (personally i wouldnt MIND bush that much) ( Im pro choice, pro stem cell research, pro gay marraige (as that will equal HUGE tax income and HUGE business income, among other things...) and frankly a republican president and congress and house with up to 3 supreme court justices to nominate from the conservative right (and who will get passed) makes me very very scared.

Say byebye to a woman's right to choose, and hello to more and more mommies with babies on welfare, or more and more "accidental/unwanted" kids who are shoved into the system, put up for adoption or abused (thus draining funds from the government) and more women who try to do backroom abortions themselves or with some hack (thus jacking up HC costs as they get rushed to the ER with little or no insurance, or die), bye bye 4 years of possible research for Parkinsons, ALS, etc...and say a big goodbye to all that lovely tax rev. from all those married gay people who can now pay the man every april 15th to be married just like I have to, plus think of all the gay wedding businesses that wont exist, no new gay cake makers, wedding dress makers, resort locations, gay honeymoon suites, income for counties/state from gay wedding lisc. (and yes you do have to pay to get one), etc.. etc..

Plus of course the untold billions we will have to spend to "fix" the middle east. Quick one for you all, we will NEVER have peace in the middle east, why? easy-there has NEVER been peace in the middle east and there pretty much never will be. We might as well get a CCR reunion together so they can write some vietnam area protest songs for the new Iraq miasma millenium, we ain't fixing that quagmire any time soon.

The girls didnt do very well with the time change, Mya was up at 3:30 am on Sunday, shes cutting molars and is cranky. We spent yesterday playing with Jason and Robin (she has a LOVELY ring from Jason) and Grandma (who got them snowboots and snowsuits) and my parents....We went outside after the Packer game in our costumes to rake leaves, and the girls had fun "helping" which intails moving one leaf from one pile to another pile.

Dale took them Trick or Treating but it was too late and they were cranky...they visited our neighbors and Jeff's parents. Mya fell off our porch and smacked her head on the concrete so that was the end of that....We had a few T or T 'ers I gave up at 7pm because it was too damn cold outside.....

Tonight we are hopefully getting the girls to bed with no problems and cleaning the bathrooms. If I get one more political call I will puke.

This weekend we were pretty busy. We are in the process of ripping up my entrance hall floor (awful stupid ugly ass tiles)-so my moms friends husband bill can give us a new one for free (a long story). Saturday was picture day, we were at Mayfair forever with the girls, who missed their nap and had had it by 2pm...We did get a nice picture of the girls. Sunday was football day, I was layed up on the couch with a sore back (baby is sitting on my nerve) and we also found out Robin is getting married to Jason (whose last name we cant remember and by now are too embarrassed to ask....)

I saw a Skunk this morning, walking down the street on Wisconsin Ave. What the hell? One does not expect to see a huge ass skunk walking down a major metropolitan downtown street!

Took Mya to La Estacion last night for dinner, she had a chicken taco and rice and beans, most of it went in her mouth only a bit was on the floor-good for her.

Didnt do much last night, watched Inside the Actors Studio (Mike Meyers and Robin Williams) and worked on my x-stitch....no biggie. Enjoy the pictures!

Once again Malinda hit her head at daycare. I think what is happening is she is trying to run and her legs cant keep up with how fast she wants to go....We're also trying to decide if she has a good vocabulary for her age (14 mo) or not? She can say, Mama, Dada, This, That, Ball, Bubble, Bottle, Hi, Kitten, No, and once Food. All we get out of Mya is Mama, Dada and some sound that resembles this and that put together.

Yesterday Malinda hit her head at daycare...you can't even see the bump...She's teething and keeps waking up at 4:30am which is pissing us all off as she is all sleepy by 6am.....Mya keeps pulling up the teething guard on her bed, so I am going to have to figure out something to keep it down..Tonight is Gilmore Girls :) and Malinda is my only kid, so I'm sure its a fun night eating out at Hobbytown and then playing MW....

This weekend we went to the Betty Brinn Children's Museum and the girls made puppets and ran around going bonkers.....pictures to follow.

Malinda is teething really bad and keeps chewing on her hand....she's been cranky. We tought her how to do "TOUCHDOWN" when ever the packers or badgers score...then she claps her hands, very cute.

they Spent part of yesterday with Grandma, Dale raked leaves, I shopped for food and pharmecuitcals, then we cleaned a bit....it was a nice break.

So here's my quandry for the day: If Princess Leia is a princess by virtue of being adopted by the King and Queen of Alderan and her planet (and her parents) was destroyed early in Episode IV, why isn't then she Queen Leia? (because she is not queen by virtue of her mother Padme Amadala since Naboo's queen is an elected position and her mother was a senator (presumably) when she died.) Just something that bothered me as I watched Epi IV and V this weekend.

Malinda had a fun day at daycare I guess, she was pretty happy when I picked her up...Mya had about 6 hours of walks yesterday with Grandma and then MY mom came over and took her for a walk so she was pretty pooped last night. My inlaws are off to Florida today so Malinda is spending some time at my parents before we get home. We have the girls tonight so thats a bit wierd....I wanted to get some stuff done in the baby's room, but that will have to wait till next week....PLan on watching the clerks special edition tonight and ER

Our naughty kitty! Posted by Hello

Thursday, October 07, 2004

Found the cat. We put her litter box outside in the backyard Tues. night and when I got home yesterday something had used the litterbox. So we went on a full scale search. We found a black and white stray (which has been roaming the neighborhood for a few weeks) and also our cat. She was hiding under my neighbors (directly next door) house. They have kind of this overhang hidden behind some plants and "ding ding ding" we had a winner...frightened dirty kitty. She of course didnt want to come out and we had to poke her with the broom/pull her out by her paws.

After a long bath (she was filthy) and a pet she was VERY happy to be home with us and spent most of the night purring at our feet/heads.

Watched Eurotrip last night and enjoyed it, plan on watching F 9/11 tonight (which Dale wil not be as he is a Bushie).

Its hard to say if the weekend was eventful or uneventful. The girls were both sick, I was sick...Friday afternoon Mya had a 103 fever and it went downhill from there. Mya was in the ER Saturday night with fever and projectile vomiting (shes fine). We took the girls to the Mall and Grandmas on Saturday PM and that was about it for the weekend.

I have some sort of cold or flu or viral thing which makes me feel like death...yesterday I went out to the store to get OJ and Pedalyte and didnt shut the door to the garage all the way...so the cat got out....I went outside looking for her (she is NOT an outside cat) and was pretty frantic..turns out she showed up in the garage 5-10 min later with HUGE eyes making sad crying noises-she was pretty freaked out, we were glad to have her home!

I went to bed early last night, Malinda woke up at 3:30, 4:45 and 6am...she wouldnt get up at 5:30 and just sort of flopped down in my lap and went back to sleep until 6am...funny.

I'm sure they will have a cruddy day at daycare, I'm just worried that I will have to leave work and bring them home. I can barely function no way can I handle 2 sick kids and a sick and pregnant me.

Tonight I plan on colapsing and dying around 7pm.

Episode: 321- Santa Claus Conquers The Martians

Joel: I think it's kind of hot to be wearing these scarves in here.
Tom: Oh, yeah.
Crow: Well, scarves are a must. You can't go caroling without a scarf. Catch your death!
Joel: Man, you were like one of those kids I remember in high school that used to sell the most candybars for the marching band.
Tom: Yeah, and you'd be president of the Swing Choir, too.
Crow: Ha ha! Ah, thanks, Joel Robinson. Thanks, Tom Servo.
Tom: What a kiss-up, this guy.
Crow: Okay, now if you'll all look at your sheet music, uh, we can rehearse my new song.
Joel: You wrote a Christmas song?
Crow: Hey, there's no tradition like a new tradition! Ha ha ha!
Tom (reads sheet music): Um, wait a minute. "Let's Have a Patrick Swayze Christmas?"
Crow: Oh, yeah, yeah. Based on my favorite movie, “Roadhouse.”
Tom: C'mon, what the heck does PATRICK SWAYZE have to do with CHRISTMAS?
Crow: Hey you keep Christmas in your way, and let me keep it in mine, ok?
Tom: Oh, jeeessz!
Joel: Hey, cmon, Tom Servo, it seems like a nice enough sentiment and we can give it a shot. C'mon.
Crow: All right. Okay. Okay. Uh, 12/8 time, uh, key of A-flat major!
Tom: Oh, good!
Crow: Uh, cambot, shoot 'em the tune. Uh, okay, you'll just have to stay with me, everybody, okay? Your part's written out. Let's have a Patrick Swayze Christmas, by Crow T. Robot.
Joel (reading music sheet, as Letterman): "Paul, let's have a Patrick Swayze Christmas"?
Crow: Right. Hit it, Cambot!
Tom: Oh! Oh, I start. I get it. Hmm.
Crow: I'm sorry.
Tom: Pick it up. (singing)
Open up your heart and let the Patrick Swayze Christmas in.
Crow: We'll gather at the Roadhouse with our next of kin.
Joel: And Santa can be our regular Saturday night thing.
Bots: We'll decorate a barstool and gather round and sing.
Tom: Oh, let's have a Patrick Swayze Christmas this year!
Crow: Or we'll tear your throat out and kick you in the ear!
Joel (interrupting): Hold it, hold it a sec. Cambot, stop the music. Uh, Crow, I don't know if I think this is an appropriate sentiment anymore for Christmas.
Crow: Hey, what? Like a good action sequence don't belong in Christmas?
Joel: Well, no, it's just that I've never heard of an action sequence in a Christmas carol before.
Tom: Yeah!
Crow: Well, then grab hold o' your socks, Joel Robinson, and read on!
Tom: Okay, pick it up from measure 20, Cambot. (music)...Lovely intro, though. Very tasteful.
Crow: Thank you.
Tom: I like that. (singing)
It's my way or the highway, this Christmas at my ba-ha-haar.
Crow: I'll have to smash your kneecaps if you bastards touch my car!
Joel: I got the word that Santa has been stealing from the till.
Bots: I think that that right jolly old elf had better make out his will ohh!
All: Oh, let's have a Patrick Swayze Christmas, one and all.
And this can be the haziest...this can be the laziest...
This can be the Swayziest Christmas of them AAALLLLLLLLLL!"
Tom: La la la laa ha HAAA!
Crow: How long before it becomes a standard?
Joel: I think you gotta come with me. C'mon. (Grabs Crow and exits.)
Crow: Waaaaah!
Tom: We'll be right back. Save a leg for me! Heh heh heh!

So I don't think the girls have Whooping Cough, but Malinda has been coughing more than last week so I'm calling the dr. to see if they need to get checked out. (bah)

Last night was MW night but Dale was running the event and didnt play so I went home with the baby.

She fell asleep in the car and was down for the night leaving me to:

1: Watch Gilmore girls and finish a baby bib for the next kid, 2: Finish Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell 3: Clean the house with Dale for 30 min (garbage, Kitty litter, dishes, strapping down babyhighchairs, laundry) and 4: fall asleep around 10:30 or so.

Tonight is Movie night, we have "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," "Super Size Me," and a CLASSIC "MST 3k="Santa Claus vs. the Martians" with the BEST christmas song ever (that makes me miss Dan and Dylan) "Oh Lets all have a Patrick Swayze Christmas" and it also features the rare and much coveted, "Roadhouse" boardgame-tally-ho!

We had a nice saturday, 2 MW marquees, shopping at Target, and cleaning the crib etc...Slept late, finished my cross stitch project, started on a bib for the baby...bought 20.00 worth of floss for my next project (arg!)...

Took the girls to the park on Sunday-they had fun till about 9000 kids showed up, so then we left. They were cranky so they were fighting and biting each other so I took Malinda to marchfest up at west....that was fun.,

Reason 99,999 why I am nervous about the idea of Free Healthcare for everyone in the US:

"Oh Hi Jane, you look great after your lung biopsy and its really a bummer you have cancer, are you going to come outside and smoke a cigarette with me after lunch?" "Thank you Sally, my lung biopsy and chemo is going really well, I would love to come smoke a cancer stick with you, thanks!"

And I'm gonna be expected to pay for shit like this?

(im still voting for John Kerry BTW)

So we are having a completely awkward lunch today at work. A few months ago we hired this person to help with some admin. stuff around here. Like 3 weeks after she started she had this freak accident and was gone from work....long story short, the accident was a good thing since she had a cat scan that showed her breast cancer was back and she needed treatment, so essentially shes been gone for from work since then.

Now she is quitting because (obviously) she needs medical treatment, but we are having a pizza lunch to celebrate (?) her leaving because I have cancer (again). What the hell? It's supposed to be a nice thing, but honestly I can't think of anything more depressing....I'm just going to grab some pizza and go on an "errand" so I dont have to stay....

Yesterday I got my new 1000 page book (aka something to keep me busy for a week) Johnathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. Its pretty good so far, a lot of footnotes! My parents sold A LOT of stuff at the rummage sale on Friday and Saturday! I think they made around 500.00 which isnt half bad. They took all the stuff they dont want to save to sell in Spring to St. Williams and we bought a new crib, changing table, and rocking chair for $105.00-all I need to do is buy a new crib mattress and clean up the wood a bit. The girls had fun being outside for 2 days and selling stuff....Malinda would give everyone that paid by mom a hug..she also made $1.00 from this old lady for being cute (which isnt really a habit I want her to get into, getting money for being pretty).

On Saturday the Twins had their twin study in madison, we went out to the Olive Garden for lunch-the night before my parents took the girls to Perkins (BAD IDEA).

Perkins kids menu sucked, their grilled cheeze was 100% grease, the beans we got for them had BACON?! on top and were greasy and the mashed potatoes were swimming in butter and gravy-yech! Dennys is much better.

Yesterday was watching football day...the girls were cranky, I've been cranky, Dale is cranky, the stupid Packers lost-bah! Good news is I am almost done with my huge cross stitch project!

So as of right now my mom and dad are opening up the rummage sale at our house...just think next week I can actually park in my garage! I'm wondering how my mom is going to watch the kids and do a rummage sale all at the same time, but I'm sure she will handle it!

Its been pretty nice out at nights so we've been playing with the kids outside before we put them down to bed, last night they decided to crack each other up for an hour when we put them down....Malinda was pacing back and forth in her crib and Mya was making her laugh by making funny noises. Sadly they were still sleeping when I left this AM so we didnt get to see each other.

Watched Scooby Doo 2 last night, outside of Linda Cardellini in a neoprene orange jumpsuit, the movie was a stinker...(not nearly as excellent as Kill Bill V.2, a movie I will be buying once it comes out as a 2 disc special ed.

I have no idea what movies are up next from netflix, I think maybe Jersey Girl and maybe Mean Girls?

Tomorrow we are off to Madison in the AM for the Twins testing and lunch with Robin....maybe we will run into Breezy?

They fired someone at work today. I'm thinking the girl they fired may sue since she was the only person of color we had working here---its always about race or sex when you get canned....Of course it could be the fact that since I was hired shes been out sick or coming in late or on vacation more than she's been in the office, but hey, who knows!? Still sad, she was a really nice person and very friendly.

Sadder news is we aren't doing D&D anymore since Dustin had to drop out (new baby on the way and he doesnt see much of his other daughter as it is) we will miss him, he rocks!

Busy night tonight, I have my twins meeting, Dale is going to see his HS friend Ryan's band play in Milwaukee late tonight---Plus I'm feeling lousy, I have heartburn or acidy something....I didnt get this with the twins, I also didnt puke at all with the twins...maybe its because its a boy....Thanks to Dawn at work for letting me steal her Tums!

and in Mya news...we discovered last night she knows what banannas are. We have this book that we got with colors in it and she was able to point to the banannas when we asked her "where are the banannas?" we tested to make sure it wasnt a fluke by going to a different page with banannas in a different place and asking "where are the banannas Mya?" and she pointed to them again! shes very smart...malinda can also find her stuffed dogs if you ask her to "find her doggies and show them to daddy" which prompts her to find these stuffed dogs, chew on them and shove their drool encrusted faces into your face. precious.

So my car was broken into last night, Dale forgot to lock it in the driveway. The guy made off with an altoids tin of change...if there was 2 bucks in there I would have been surprized! He did not take my Pixies concert ticket, my endorsed bonus check for $250.00 or my Cd's/Stereo- He did however smoke and ash in my car so the car now reaks of smoke...I had to buy air spray this AM-yech!

We also drafted our Fantasy League this weekend...my brother and Dale and I had fun doing that.

Also hit the Home Despot and bought two ceiling fans and hit the walmart for general baby crap/food.

Yesterday night we watched Orange County-kind of a disappointing movie.... We took minda for a bike ride on her little bike, she had fun with that. Today we are having Dustin come over for a little late night gaming! whoo hoo! I also went to Old Navy and TJ Maxx yesterday and gobbled up some cheep baby clothes for the new baby....I also got some stuff off of ebay and should be getting some nice things from Julie and Shannon.....now we just need a single stroller and a new crib---maybe another high chair although we dont even use ours now, its so big!
