work an other assorted items

Thanks to Ryan for the "sort of smokin'" (dont sue me) comment today. honestly the funniest thing I've heard (out of someone over the age of 2) lately

Today the guy who has been Mr A-#1 assmunch "fired himself" today. I'm quite glad of this as now I don't have to listen to his endless comments about how many abortions he's paid for or how many chicks he has hooked up with etc...etc...

So whoopie for me. I do have a knack to outlast people I work with who generally don't deserve to occupy civilized space.

This week we are taking owen to the pediatric hematolgist on Thursday for more blood tests to see if he has this blood syndrome or not..I need my blood tested (friday) for my protime (which was low again last time). I also have to try and clean the basement library at some point because, #1 the books are getting out of hand, #2 I have about 50 books to imput into my book log, #3 I have about 10 things to ship out from ebay #4 nothing is organized anymore and I cant find book #1 in the Sookie Stackhouse series goddamnit.

MYA BLOWS HER HORN Posted by Picasa

craptacular

I got caught using the internet at work so no more blogging for me at work. bah. Owen has a blood disorder (maybe?) we have to go see a pediatric hemalogist at Children's next week. He is scheduled for Adnoid Surgery on the 10th, but that seems up in the air now that he may have a bleeding disorder (possibly inherited from me.)

Yesterday dale and I were nauseus and crappy and felt horrible, I went to work today and dale stayed home. I know he must have been sick because he cleaned this whole house (garbage, laundry, dishes, kitchen) for me...?!

This week I am run down from being sick and not eating yesterday, so we plan on taking it easy and watching the olympics. This past weekend we went to the Zoo Sunday (nice and warm in the MOnkey House and the Bird House) and saturday we went to the dentist (no caveties for either of us). This weekend, trip to the Vet with Zazi and maybe more zoo on Sunday?

So I have a rash! I had to go to the dermatologist yesterday because for around the last few months or so it burns around my eyes when I tear up or put in my contacts and it is kind of red and pimple-y (although I learned yesterday they aren’t pimples). I guess this is a rash that generally they see around peoples mouths (yuck). Good news is I rub a lotion on it 2x a day and it should clear up in 2 weeks, goodie.

Also I was at the gas station this AM (as you can see by below pictures) and the local ABC station was filming a spot on…wait for it…that it snowed (really!) and that when it snows cars need to use windshield washer fluid to see (cue reporter with bottle of the blue stuff). This is emmy award winning stuff right here.

Last night I had to work late, it snowed so I didn’t get home till like 9:40, quickly watched last weeks ER on tape and hit the sack.

Today it was snowing so we ordered a pizza @ 10:54, it did not arrive until 1:47. We did not accept the pizza and are now boycotting Papa John’s. It took me exactly 3 minutes to get from my parking lot to Papa John’s-no excuse that I had to eat Taco Bell when I was thinking Papa Johns. Rat Bastards.

this weekend...craptacular

A lousy weekend, which only got worse come Monday morning…

The kids (the girls) now refuse all suggestion of naps on the weekends. If you try to nap them, they go crazy like monkey’s in the room, throw toys and blankets everywhere and get insane which causes more stress than its is worth. So we had a very trying weekend.

Friday I worked a ½ day since I worked Saturday AM (also known as “a complete waste of time”). I went to Penney’s to pick up pictures, found out they weren’t in yet and shopped their sales. I got about 300$ worth of stuff for $88.00 including 5 bras for about 3 bucks each, kick ass! And new soft sweats before I had to pick up Mya and Owen for the Dr. appt in Oconomowoc.

The good news was that Mya and Owen have normal (although Owen’s are a bit big) adnoids. So we don’t have to have surgery….Mya may just have an abnormal speech thing, if she doesn’t grow out of it, she made need speech therapy. Owen, since he is Mr. Ear Infection, doesn’t HAVE to get his adnoids removed, but it may (80%) help him get rid of colds and the ear infections faster/or prevent them since (from what I remember) this is where the infection likes to “live.”

So she sent Dale and I home with a card to “think” about the surgery for Owen. Dale decided (yesterday) we should “wait and see.” This morning Owen woke up with a nice green crusty right ear. This means he has yet another ear infection-It also explains why he was screaming his head off last night when we put him down to bed..(generally he doesn’t even make a sound) and didn’t stop till I doped him with Tylenol.

Friday night (back to the chronological order of my crappy weekend)-the kids went to daycare for Parents Night Out till 9pm. They seemed to have fun. I went to my Twins Club meeting-left early and did the taxes with Dale (I guess we are getting about 3k back total….much less than last year, but I didn’t have a large lump sum settlement appear on my doorstep from a previous employer this year-darn).

Saturday-took the kids to the mall in the afternoon to pick up pictures (will post a few here) and had lunch/snack. Saturday afternoon they were insane crazy which resulted in Dale taking away many toys and hiding them. We did however watch “Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Ware-rabbit,” the girls really liked that!

Sunday it was snowy and cold and once again the kids insane due to no sleep and the fact they all have colds. About 1pm we gave up and tossed their screaming, miserable, cranky selves into the car for a drive. Malinda was asleep before we turned the corner, then Mya, then Owen…we drove to East Troy (simply because I knew it’s a good 40 min there, and 40 min back)…stopped back in Waukesha @ Culvers for a snack and went home.

Played 2 hours of Diablo II with Dale last night and also watched “March of the Penguins” during laundry time. This could easily be the most depressing movie I have ever seen. These freaking birds stand around in -80 weather, having not eaten for 180 days, with an egg on their feet-they walk 70 miles to get to the point where they stand around freezing and starving. Freaking crazy.

Today is Yoga and I am being honest, I am burned out on Yoga. Today is the 1st day in a year where I can say, I don’t want to go to Yoga and I don’t care that I paid 50 bucks to take the class, I just am not really interested right now-I’d rather just go work out. I don’t think I will be taking it next session.

good news!

The kids went to the Dr. and neither one of them have enlarged adnoids...so no surgery-for Mya. We can have the option of having Owen do his ears, that MAY 80% help him avoid the constant ear infections that he has and maybe help him feel better....its our call...Not sure what we plan on doing yet, we're going to discuss it.

Rented "Wallace and Gromit, the Curse of teh Ware-Rabbit" The kids liked the bunnies!

Dale started the taxes, hopefully we can get those filed this weekend, only getting back about 3k this year...oh well....

Have went crazy at two stores with sales...got $128.00 worth of stuff at Baby Gap for $32.00, and I got over $300.00 worth of stuff at Penny's for $80.00 (mostly items for the girls in 3t-5t, plus 5 new things for me and 2 new pairs of kick ass sweat pants at $6.00 each (reg $40.00). rock on with my bad self.

This weekend is busy. Today I work a half day as I work tomorrow morning. This afternoon Mya and Owen are going to the ENT to discuss adenoidal surgery. Tonight all 3 kids get to go to daycare from 6:30-9pm for parents nights out-I’m going to the Twins meeting (for a bit), and Dale is doing taxes and I’ll come home and clean and then pick them up. Working till 11am tomorrow…then I am not sure what we will do tomorrow afternoon as it started to snow today and may be sloppy outside tomorrow.

The worst Superbowl Ever & My unexpected windfall

We watched the 1st half of the superbowl. The kids were out of control and we put them down…I watched possibly 30 seconds of the Rolling Stones, puked from its horrible badness and channel surfed till Dale came back downstairs. I said, “so what do you think so far?” Dale-“pretty boring.” So we ended up not watching the 2nd half and playing Diablo II till bedtime-nice huh?

Anyways…to backtrack this weekend…Sunday afternoon we took the kids to Wendy’s for lunch (they ate well), to my mom’s for a break and to say hi. Saturday we took the kids to Betty Brinn for a puppet show. Got there and learned that was canceled. OK, they had some Milwaukee Young Adult Theatre company doing a few numbers from CATS..

The kids were a bit interested in the people (Malinda kept saying “they have tails!”) and Owen thought it was neat. After this we went down to the Kids room…All of a sudden my neck really started to hurt-BAD! I was a bit surprised as it A: came on all of the sudden and B: I hadn’t done anything to make it hurt?!

I told Dale we had to go home, I was feeling really badly and was starting to get the migraine symptoms (w/out a migraine). We went to Toni and Fred’s for lunch and I could barely move my neck….

Got home with the kids, called the Dr. (my protime-v.g.) and he said I am allowed Asprin! HOORAY! A gift from the gods! (an aside, due to the DVT and my blood condition I am not allowed: Asprin, Aleve, Advil, Motrin or anything else that could possibly make me feel better-I am allowed any sort of hard-habit forming drugs, such as vicodin..odd?)

Took two asprin, took 2 vicodin and iced my neck…after passing out for a 45 period, I felt a bit better…and went to clean the kitchen (I get sick-I clean). Saturday night played Diablo II with Dale-it only seems to not hurt my neck when I’m sitting straight up….?

It was impossible to get up today and yesterday too…I have no idea how I managed to turn my head to drive…I think I’m a danger to everyone!

We also made brats yesterday…problematic was that the grill wouldn’t light? So I cooked the brats in beer and allspice for 3-4 hours in the slowcooker and ended up broiling them in the oven, actually didn’t turn out ½ bad!

Anyways, my new windfall. At work we had this contest with a client to win their “superbowl” (by collecting money etc..). Our firm won and sent a coworker and her husband to the superbowl. The firm (here) is paying each collector $1500.00 as a bonus (tax free in 2 $750.00 prepaid credit cards). So I have been sitting around debating how to spend the money. I figure there are two ways I could go: Paying/buying something I need/should pay, or buying something I want to. So here are the options:

STUFF I SHOULD BE/NEED TO PAY FOR/OFF-

I could put the $1500.00 towards our equity line (paying off the new A/C) this would drop it down to around $2,500.00 owed on the line….

+’s, get the balance down, reduce debt (not that we have much), feel better if we decide to remodel anything else again and have to draw off the line. –‘s, right now its interest only and I am already paying off way more than I need to per month anyways…this isn’t URGENT or anything.

We could also use the money to pay off the car payment left on my car…

+’s –reduce debt (once again, besides the house this is our only debt). –‘s : we only have 6 payments left (around 1200.00) and this is a really low interest rate, we’re current and the payments are $213.00 a month…its not a big hit every month…

Pay daycare. This would pay about 2 ½ weeks of daycare. +’s, it pays 2 ½ weeks of daycare. –‘s paying daycare is not fun. I hate paying for daycare.

NOW THE FUN STUFF –AKA SPENDING MONEY ON CRAP WE DON’T NEED BUT I WANT!!!

I would like a new stove. I hate our stove, its electric, and ugly and I want a gas stove which isn’t ugly and crappy and old, and which has a nice clean everything and matches my fridge. Estimated cost $300-$400 give or take…either way, a good investment.

Scrapbooking stuff—I would easily be able to blow the whole wad on scrapbooking stuff—lets move on.

Books-I would also easily be able to blow the whole wad on books.

Paying towards the credit card bill this month (various groceries etc…) but I am not sure if you can take the credit card prepays and pay the credit card?? And generally most of the CC bill is for daycare (see above).

I would also like if we could pay someone to fix our freaking bathroom, get the wallpaper off and re drywall the walls….

Most likely I think I should be responsible with ½ of the cash and pay something boring and not fun….and then go crazy with the rest…which is not very responsible of me, but I guess with your bonus money, its not money you would have had anyways…you should get to do something fun with it—right?

The mail is insane. I sent postcards from Mexico to a few people including myself. I got an email yesterday from Laura, in WESTERN KENYA (AFRICA!) got her postcard before anyone in the states. What does that say about the US Mail? Mexico can deliver mail faster to a country literally half way around the world, then to the neighbor next door??

On that note, for those that are interested, Laura writes:

Allcontinues to treat me well here... a surprisingly easy transition allthings considered (Africa, poverty, dispair, etc). Guess that means Iwas ready for the move, that the timing was right, and that everythingis working out as it's meant to. The nuns call it providence... and Ithink whatever you call it I'm meant to be here right now.

Yesterday I took a child to the hospital 2 hrs away in Eldoret. (NEof us). The child is 3 yrs old, has Downs Syndrome, and is alsohydrocephalic (giant head since the brain can't drain fluids). Wediscovered today in the ultrasound of her heart that she also has ahole in her heart and will need open heart surgery. Many of the womenhere, if they're lucky enough to get jobs, will only earn 12,000 Kshper year. (less than $0.50 a day).

The open heart surgery alone willcost 300,000 Ksh, and then she'll need additional surgeries sinceshe's hydrocephalic. Like I said before, it's very intense work forme and the rest of the staff, and very bleak for the families. Thispart of Western Kenya is very rural and very, very, very poor. TodayI'm looking forward to paperwork... much less bleak or intense.

You can keep up with Laura’s trip at her new blog www.travelingcat.com.

Last nite Dale and I had a nice Dinner out in Oconomowoc (we had a coupon) at Todd’s Steakhouse and Grille. Had a couple of NY Strips…tasty (and leftovers for lunch today!) We then hit the shoe store for new shoes for Dale (he really likes Sketchers) as his were completely falling apart.

Managed to get shoes for him, boots for me and a pair of Doc Martins (for me) that were on sale for 75% off (so 100.00 shoes for 25.00!)-whoopie!....Went home, checked computer, talked to Robin and hit the sack early….and also slept in late (5:45 lucky me!)

Today I may leave a wee bit early (once again the evil “no one has overtime and we would really appreciate if you would just not work at all…for money that is-hits!), run to the hospital for the blood check tonight, and use some of the anniversary gift from my mom (25 packets of scrapbooking embellishments…!)

I got 2 pairs of diamond earrings from Dale…now I have 8 diamonds in my ears…my 4th hole in my right ear closed up, so I am debating whether or not to get it repierced or go with 4 holes in my left and 1 up top and 3 in my right…..

Saturday is the puppet show @ Betty Brinn with the kids, Sunday is the Superb-owl. (don’t want the NFL suing me or anything).

There is a guy at work (and Ryan may know who I am talking about) who has what I consider (and its only a personal quirk) to be an annoying as hell habit of speech. He constantly says your name when he’s talking to you…as in “well you know Mary, and the thing is Mary.” I figure I know my name and I know you know my name, you don’t need to keep repeating my name. arg.

the axe keeps falling and falling

Well work fired 2 people yesterday, one girl was here 2 years, and one guy (was a moron) worked here like 8 months and was just like my old boss Jim, a total goldfish-and one girl quit (she was a lesbian and just broke up with her partner and needed a change of pace. Its quite depressing and glum around here....making me feel less and less secure.Mail me!
