tonight dale and i went on a date, we went to marcus and got a pizza and saw indiana jones....dale thought it was pretty lame, i thought it was pretty enjoyable...as we were walking out we saw a gaggle (at least 10-15) middle early aged (35-45) women dressed up in NY "sheek" with cheep high heels and crappy target oversized purses. 20 bucks to guess which movie they were headed to?

i mocked them the whole way out.

i must say i never watched sex in the city, i dont have HBO for one and for two, i really hate sarica jessica parker. she is a horsy faced nob. and annoying. really fucking annoying.

i liked indiana jones myself, i can see where the mutt jones sequals will be happening and i totally get the last 20 min of the movie where my dad said "thats where you can see where george lucas got his hand in and let the ILM geeks go bonkers" (word dad, word.)



this is now my new favorite picture of owen. kid is a hot mess, seriously.

i have been watching and enjoying six feet under (thanks ryan darling) and believing what my twin says, he really goes resemble nate....its getting pretty creepy son..thats 4 sure.

this week i also read the new anita blake, blood noir, the latest james patterson cross novel, double cross, the latest maryjanice davidson betsy book (vg) and i am working my way through a "bones" book by kathy reichs.

watching on TV (besides 6 feet under) greek and top chef...i cant wait that project runway is back on soon....i hope that christian "fierce hot tranny mess" will make some sort of apperance...also watched spider man 3 (sp features, which sucked), enchanted (twice) and we have surf's up for the kids tomorrow.....also BSG on tomorrow nite, whooop!

listening to XTC, Jose Gonzales and Al Hirt like a madwoman.

ive got to go wash my hair and pretend to get stuff for the gym tomorrow (i would rather sleep in)

a long 48 hours in the dells...
kids went bonkers, but then again they always do
saturday we went on the ducks (pictures to follow here shortly) i cant remember the last time i did that tour, we really had fun.
we checked in to the hotel, the polynesian and i think it was a FANTASTIC waterpark if you have kids under 7. there was NO ONE there the kids had the entire inside area to themselves for about an hour....dale and i each had a drinky drink (him, rum, strawberry banana....me mudslide. mmmmmm mudslide) and watched the kids play.
the girls almost drowned (really) but thanks to a nice teenage kid lifeguard are still alive. (note to children, when mommy says, "ill check to see how deep the water is first" that does not mean, lets go down the waterslide into 4 feet of water when you cant swim. and malinda while you see your sister drowing and being rescued, that does not mean you should go down the slide and get rescued too.)

after we played for a bit at the waterpark we had dinner at subway and decided to get tickets for the tommy barlett watershow. its always my favorite part of the dells...do a show for 55 years and you kinda get it down pat. we saw the 8:30 show which means we get to see the dancing waters (hooray!). the kids went into bed at like 11pm (my kids normally in bed by 7) and owen kept me up ALL NIGHT till 4am when i couldnt take it anymore.

by couldnt take it anymore i mean, rolling on top of me, kicking, pulling my hair, almost falling off the bed, grinding teeth, sucking noises and i am not sure what else...all while sound asleep. i gave up at 4am and made dale sleep with him.

we went to mr. pancake (also a dells staple for me and my family) and had...pancakes (sadly no boysenberry syrup-criminal) and went to noahs ark with 3 really fucking crabby kids. we stayed about 4 hours, dragged their asses out of there and they were all asleep within 2-10 minutes of being in the car...

dale and i listened to the brewers spank the astros (10-1) on the way home.

got home, noticed i am now a bit tan, with a bit of red on my shoulders (stupid spray on sunscreen...)

tonight we had mediterranian chicken (chicken breasts with dried tomatoes, green olives, capers, artichoke, garlic and white wine) and black beans and rice.

i then went on a tear cleaning out my closet and have a bucket of crap for goodwill.
i am going to watch 6 feet under and cross stitch.

that we took the kids to see nim's island yesterday
for little kids like mine, they were pretty bored...i'd say it was more for 8 yr olds who wanted to follow the story (mine were wondering when dancing cartoon chipmunks and songs would start) but really what struck me is how OLD Jodie Foster looked. Now I know she is in her 40s..but with movie magic sophia loren (who is like 82) looks in her 40s...so either they did a great job of olding her up or she just looks old....

last night i did some retail therapy bought a very cool book and got some fantastic deals...a nice red sweater from old navy for 1.97 (whoo hoo), a RED t-ee from the gap for 5 bucks (its white with a red flamingo on it and its very very soft and a v-neck....and i got some shorts since for some reason i can not find my shorts.

i bought the kids enchanted (mya is not happy as this movie scared her)

and dale is preoccupied with listening to the douglas adams books on his zen.

my dad is home from the hospital too...

1. congrats to my boss (ish) and fellow north hs classmate DJ on the birth of son #2 Brady Benjamin, yesterday...my advise to him to his wife to demand of your body that it expell the bebe on your timetable worked. kid was born yesterday 1 week early.

2. congrats to damon on bebe #2, a son. Ethan Connor joins Brooke (who I think is 5) at home.

3. warm wishes to my favorite author and friend PKM on the anniversary of her engagement.

4. good thoughts to my other boss (ish) Dave...his wife has a mysterious virus and she is in a lot of pain, but getting better.

STUFF I AM UP TO:
movies I watched lately:
27 dresses-rating eh (eh=dismissive vocalization expressing ennui or general dismissivenes)...I would say in the realm of RomComs it was not as bad as anything with JLo (see Monster in Law and that thing with Matthew McConnehey where she plays the wedding planner) but not as good as say, Sweet Home Alabama or Ever After.

Die Hard 2-why the hell do they call these movies die hard? McClaine never dies hard, he just has really shitty xmases? having never seen it before and then hearing ryan say it was the worst out of all of them (he hasnt seen #4) and then seeing it was a reny harlin directed picture. i agree. the 1st one was better.

Walk Hard-The Dewey Cox Story. Way way funny. and bonus points for having so many "Office" cast members in the cast. more bonus points for Jenna Fischer. she is so fraking hot.

have been watching the ENTIRE extended edition LOTR with the kids. you havent lived till you hear your 3 yr old son laugh as orks get decapatated and your 4 year old daughter say "those good guys need to stab somone in the stomach, or maybe the eye and kill them so mr frodo and go to the volanco and not get dead." (real quote, i shit you not)

In Queue: The Golden Compass (to see how it ruined a great book) waiting to watch with dale (and now I have to say "beef, it's what for dinner" thanks ryan), Juno (to mock diablo cody...honest to blog), National Treasure: Book of Secrets & 30 rock, season 1.

TV Watchin':

The Office, House, Bones, & Greek all kick ass on TV, however nothing rocks so hard as Battlestar Galactica. The fact that this show ends this season is awful. Its so mother fraking good i cant stand myself. makes friday nights worth it again. Starbuck rules.

princess mia by meg cabot. yes i read the princess diaries series. you go to hell. you go to hell and you die. this book reminded me so much of ME circa 1995 i wet my fraking PILLOW crying. thank god dale was sleeping....

the lovely bones-really disturbing, yet very beautiful, made you want to believe there is heaven. I couldnt read more than a chapter at a time, kids being murdered bothers me.

Harry Potter VII, for about the 9th time. still is a read to remember.
