ही तेरे एवेर्योने!

that we took the kids to see nim's island yesterday
for little kids like mine, they were pretty bored...i'd say it was more for 8 yr olds who wanted to follow the story (mine were wondering when dancing cartoon chipmunks and songs would start) but really what struck me is how OLD Jodie Foster looked. Now I know she is in her 40s..but with movie magic sophia loren (who is like 82) looks in her 40s...so either they did a great job of olding her up or she just looks old....

last night i did some retail therapy bought a very cool book and got some fantastic deals...a nice red sweater from old navy for 1.97 (whoo hoo), a RED t-ee from the gap for 5 bucks (its white with a red flamingo on it and its very very soft and a v-neck....and i got some shorts since for some reason i can not find my shorts.

i bought the kids enchanted (mya is not happy as this movie scared her)

and dale is preoccupied with listening to the douglas adams books on his zen.

my dad is home from the hospital too...

हिय

a few things out of the way:

1. congrats to my boss (ish) and fellow north hs classmate DJ on the birth of son #2 Brady Benjamin, yesterday...my advise to him to his wife to demand of your body that it expell the bebe on your timetable worked. kid was born yesterday 1 week early.

2. congrats to damon on bebe #2, a son. Ethan Connor joins Brooke (who I think is 5) at home.

3. warm wishes to my favorite author and friend PKM on the anniversary of her engagement.

4. good thoughts to my other boss (ish) Dave...his wife has a mysterious virus and she is in a lot of pain, but getting better.

STUFF I AM UP TO:
movies I watched lately:
27 dresses-rating eh (eh=dismissive vocalization expressing ennui or general dismissivenes)...I would say in the realm of RomComs it was not as bad as anything with JLo (see Monster in Law and that thing with Matthew McConnehey where she plays the wedding planner) but not as good as say, Sweet Home Alabama or Ever After.

Die Hard 2-why the hell do they call these movies die hard? McClaine never dies hard, he just has really shitty xmases? having never seen it before and then hearing ryan say it was the worst out of all of them (he hasnt seen #4) and then seeing it was a reny harlin directed picture. i agree. the 1st one was better.

Walk Hard-The Dewey Cox Story. Way way funny. and bonus points for having so many "Office" cast members in the cast. more bonus points for Jenna Fischer. she is so fraking hot.

have been watching the ENTIRE extended edition LOTR with the kids. you havent lived till you hear your 3 yr old son laugh as orks get decapatated and your 4 year old daughter say "those good guys need to stab somone in the stomach, or maybe the eye and kill them so mr frodo and go to the volanco and not get dead." (real quote, i shit you not)

In Queue: The Golden Compass (to see how it ruined a great book) waiting to watch with dale (and now I have to say "beef, it's what for dinner" thanks ryan), Juno (to mock diablo cody...honest to blog), National Treasure: Book of Secrets & 30 rock, season 1.

TV Watchin':

The Office, House, Bones, & Greek all kick ass on TV, however nothing rocks so hard as Battlestar Galactica. The fact that this show ends this season is awful. Its so mother fraking good i cant stand myself. makes friday nights worth it again. Starbuck rules.

Reading:
Kathy Reich's Temperance Brennan books (aka the inspiration for "Bones") very very good. Thanks dad for loaning to me.

The latest #1 Ladies Detective Agency book...as Robin (my SIL) says "always so delightful." agreed.

shopgirl by steve martin...short, but actually really good. i recommend.

princess mia by meg cabot. yes i read the princess diaries series. you go to hell. you go to hell and you die. this book reminded me so much of ME circa 1995 i wet my fraking PILLOW crying. thank god dale was sleeping....

the lovely bones-really disturbing, yet very beautiful, made you want to believe there is heaven. I couldnt read more than a chapter at a time, kids being murdered bothers me.

Harry Potter VII, for about the 9th time. still is a read to remember.

Stuff im listening to:

According to the play count on my ipod I love the following more than anything:

Band of Horses "No One's Gonna Love You."
Feist, 1234
This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race by fallout boy
How Can I tell you by Liz Durret
The Way I am by Ingrid Michaelson
Overkill by Colin Hay
Winter by Joshua Radin
You by Fisher
Walter Reed by Michael Penn
and Hey Julie by Fountains of Wayne

new earworm song "Baby it's cold outside" by Leon Redbone and Zooey Deschanel (from "Elf"...."its' SANTA! {that slays me})

new find: nothing like you and i by the perishers.

this week, im busy...tomorrow is kindergarden registration (depressing and joyful) and brewers game on saturday.

love ya all.

sorry lori

for not writing much of late
i have been busy

some things of note. i got a bonus bonus (besides my ot bonus) for helping the new guy (who shall be called dave, because his name is dave) transition here. i have no idea how much it is...lets hope its alot.

dale leaves for Indy next week wed for his trade show.

dr biebel called about 10 min ago. we did a stool study for owen ( the kid has had dirahea for the last 3 years, i kid you not) turns out he has a reducing substances positive result.

what does this mean you ask?

well it means that he has a problem digesting carbohydrates or your "oses"
lactose, fructose, glucose etc...

he has to call the head GI guy at childrens to see if there is a test and what kind of test they can do to try and isolate which carb (sugar) he is having problems with absorbing and how to fix that.

it may be as simple as eliminating that "ose" from his diet or as not simple as scoping his pooper.

tonite is battlestar galactica and i am almost pissing myself im so jazzed.

off to watch starbuck

love you lori, this ones for you

GO BREWERS!

(OH and we got a pair of my bosses brewers season tickets, 1st row, 3rd base side, on the aisle behind the visiting teams dugout. so awesome)

i am not irish

1. I'm not irish...

that being said, I invariably get into an arguement wherever I am on St. Patrick's Day. The discussion goes like this:

"Why aren't you wearing Green?"
"I'm not Irish."
"But everyone's Irish on St. Patrick's Day!" (even though he was neither Irish, or a Saint, or named Patrick)
"No, they aren't. Is everyone Black on Martin Luther King Jr. Day?"
silence...

so wear pink today or black or anything but green. I don't drink, I don't drink Green beer, and I am NOT irish.

my weekend

this has been a long, but fun weekend..
owen now seems to be turning the corner since he has had his antibiotics for the past two days (flavored grape bubblegum thanks to the wizards at walgreens)
he doesnt want to take the medicine but his lack of fever and generally better temperment has shown the meds work.

saturday we went to country springs hotel and waterpark (grandma bought the tickets, thanks mum) and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprized. I actually want to go back and I actually want to go back WITHOUT the kids. They have 3 large waterslides (two with tubes, one without) a small lazy river, a HUGE ass kids area for the pre 5 year old set and a big pool area for the kids who want to pretend to swim and play basketball. They also have a awesome indoor/outdoor hottub and let me tell you sitting in the hottub when its like 40 outside rocks the Fucking house. I coulda sat in there all day. No problem.

We stayed about 3 hours or so, ate a bit of lunch and took the kids home...we all took a nap, washed the swimclothes and headed back to the waterpark (another nice feature, you can come and go as you like) for an hour and a half or so...left got some wendys fed the kids and they went to bed.

i spent last night recovering from waterloggedness and watching scrubs season 6 on dvd....scrubs is such a great show.

today was a no plans no needs sort of sunday...we went to oconomowoc to the pick n save (the one that gives away samples) got some groceries (all i needed was milk and yogurt and ended up with a 140.00 worth of stuff...damn shopping)

owen passed out in the car and so he missed lunch...i took off for an hour of ME time which was returning stuff to Kohls, returning a book to B&N and grabbing a starbucks. I have a fun and exciting existance.

the rest of today plan is to do laundry (a never ending job), make get well cards for uncle jason (sprained foot playing soccer) and having dinner (i'm feeling pasta).
tonight after the kids go to bed I may have to clean the library (my books are getting everywhere and I cant FIND anything) and finishing scrubs season 6 disc 3.

I've also realized this week Ryan and I are like ships in the night, we have become voice mail message buddies one of these days kid we should actually connect on the phone!

here is the slider of the pictures from my disasterous trip to chicago (the one where the lady walked in front of the train and got herself killed) and the waterpark

FUCKING WORST DAY EVER

to break it down:
mix up with cars so the girls did not go to ballet
then took train home from chicago, problems with the train, had to remove a car, shove that car worth of people into 4 cars and left chicago 1 hr or so late
then 30 minutes after we left (late) the train HIT A FUCKING CAR ON THE TRACKS AND KILLED SOMEONE.

I WAS ON THE GODDAMN TRAIN FOR 6 AND A HALF FUCKING HOURS.

I GOT HOME AT 10:30 FUCKING PM

I HAD THE WORST DAY
