Ipod Dominos
More kids
feeling hot! hot! HOT!
100% humidity at 6am…ugg…! Right now at 9:39 am its 86 degrees and
since it's a Monday the A/C was off all weekend so it's abysmal in
here. This week I guess plans are dependant on the heat…obviously we
can't hang outside when its over 90 with the kids…This week I get to
run around errands…Picking up Market Day tomorrow, picking up a
Stampin' Up Catalogue Thursday, hitting B&N on Thurday…Gym today and
Tuesday also Thursday AM.
Friday we are going to Wendy's house to
see the new place & to visit with her and the kids…Saturday Oil
Changes in the AM, Gage is coming over to play in the AM and no plans
in the PM. And Sunday our Twins Club turns 50 years old and we are
having a summer party down the block at the park!
Today I'm
listening to the Podcasts on my Ipod. I am listening to THE SLATE's
spoiler specials…right now they are slamming on Ryan's favorite movie
of the year, "Lady in the Water." The two critics are pretty much
going to town on M. Night. Generally their complaints are pretty much
talking about how absurd this movie's plot was and bitching about the
fact that there is no "twist" to the movie (like his other movies) and
the best thing they say is that "the movie is courageous in its
insanity." Funny
I am in the process of uploading videos from my
computer of the kids to youtube….Hopefully you can start to view the
kiddies in all their moronic and silly glory…Right now I only have
them swimming up…it takes a hell of a long time to upload a min of
footage even on a cable line! Depending on how this works, I may take
more videos of the kids with the camera than I have before…
This
week I start a new book, The Sunday Philosophers Club by Alexander
McCall Smith. He writes a series that both Robin and I like….so I am
anxious to see if this series is as good.
Thanks and praise goes
out to Lorraine who drove down to White Castle for us all this
morning, my belly is full of sliders and onion rings…yummy!

WEEKEND RECAP
my parents kept the kids Sat nite and dale and I saw Clerks II-easily the best movie I have seen in years. Today, Shopped at the store...DVD player was fried in the storm, bought new DVD player, and mowed the lawn (sweated bullets and mowed over red ants..)

Tornado!
Today there was a huge rainstorm and (so I have heard) a tornado
touched down about a mile away from our house… Downtown Waukesha was
flooded (and they closed it down!) and I guess some houses in our
neighborhood and my moms lost trees. We just have one branch down, but
our neighbor lost the entire top of his pine tree. And we lost power.
The funny news is at Kindercare they had a tornado warning and all
the kids had to go in the bathrooms… Malinda told Dale this and he
said "do you know why?" She said "yes, because there was a canado
outside." Kids..

kind of that orange-y-green before a storm, I ran back in the house to
grab the kids and left the door open…and BAM! Downpour! The girls
are yelling "its raining, I'm wet!" and Dale is trying to chuck them
in the car and close the doors and trunk…hilarity.
We are
recovered from yesterday…I have tan lines (ha!) and no headache…the
girls were mental last night and didn't sleep till at least 8:30…they
were less than cooperative when we woke them up this morning.
Last night, I didn't watch either of the movies we have (Carnival
Season I Disc's 1 & 2 & Aeon Flux…the movie..) and just played Diablo
a bit with Dale and took a shower….speaking of which…..
I am done
with the sand texture in the bathroom!!! I just need to let it cure
for 2 weeks then I can start to prime the walls….then the walls can be
yellow! Whoopee! What a large sense of accomplishment for lil ole
me…!!! My mom also stripped my, well I guess you could call in our
downstairs railing/shelf, while we were out…I think the intentions is
to sand and stain asap…
Today I have a Dr's appt. @ 3pm….a
children's program at daycare tomorrow night (mr. billy), and NOTHING
planned for Thursday! Whoopee!

too much sun
The downside is that since this was a "out of the norm" activity, they are out of control now (well the girls anyways) and tomorrow will be hell at daycare..Owen was also going mental before we left the Stang's and was close to a biting spree...We also saw (in addition to Ryan S) Ryan Kastner (sp?) who also went to HS with Dale and also has a newborn (boy, I think?) and Ryan' S's Mom and Dad....
Right now I'm hiding out down here trying to avoid the headache that Dale already has...I figure he's already Ill and I dont want to be ill, so its better for him to round up the kids...very selfish and I suck..
This morning I got to see what its like to raise only ONE child...my parents took Owen and Malinda to church and Mya and I scrapbooked for an hour.. (she markers, paste and paper scraps...me bazzill basics and brads) it was very nice to just have ONE person to handle...crap i think dale is killing the kids or vice versa...

banner day
Last night was not a banner night at my house. Mya threw her sister
into a wall, giving Malinda a bloody nose and bloody lip. At the time
I was upstairs making dinner…I hear this blood curdling scream and run
downstairs to find Malinda wailing in a ball on the floor with blood
all over her face. So I grab her and call my dad to get him or Matt
over (matt came over). I spend about 15 min cleaning up her bloody
face and telling Mya off for throwing her into a wall (for the record,
Mya found this funny) and trying to make dinner.
Malinda couldn't
really eat dinner (too hot on bleeding boo boo) and so had juice and
applesauce…and Grandma came over to check on Malinda….Malinda milked
that boo-boo all night…it was funny after a fashion..until she crapped
her pants and didn't tell me (sigh). So within 2 hours I cleaned up
blood and poop..thankfully no one puked or I woulda had the trifecta.
Last night I watched a Cadfael DVD (it was great) and did some
cross stitch. I stayed up later (couldn't sleep) and read a bit of
"The Talented Mr. Ripley." This morning after packing the kids off,
taking my 2 hr nap and eating Rice Crispies….I watched what I consider
the most BORING, horrible, and lame movie I have seen in eons: The
Avengers.
Ryan, if you haven't seen this movie and plan on it get
royally drunk before you watch it because its annoying as heck. This
was lamer than that Batman with Jim Carrey (the 3rd one?)…worse than
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (which could have been so much
better), and just awful…No stars…
I returned CD's to the library
today for Matt…dropped CD's off at my dads…bought one book (at almost
50% off ) and headed to work..which sucks.
I guess I just wasn't
into it today here. Everyone's attitude is lousy, everyone is
crabby…2 people were talking about quitting in the lunchroom..bah…I
shoulda never woken up today!

damn you ryan!

Since ryan added his favorite links, I got inspired to waste an hour on youtube.com
and added all my favorite links to movies/tv shows. I know Ryan will disagree STRONGLY with my addition of a scene from "The Royal Tenenbaums" (although no Ben Stiller is present) and also "Zoolander." I also shoulda added "Mystery Men." What can I say, I like Ben Stiller..
Also in there are a few of my all time favorite Tv shows "The Greatest American Hero," Welcome Back Kotter" (also shoulda added "Taxi" "The Muppet Show" "Sha-na-na" "Bosom Buddies" "Mork" "Herman's Head" "The Chris Elliot Show"...basically anything on Fox circa the late 80s-early 90s....Roseanne....) crap..now I'm going to have to go back to Youtube.....
I shake my fist at the heavens and damn you Ryan!
I leave you with a few things: The Polka Dot Door
which was my all time most favorite PBS show as a child...
and also The Great Space Coaster
which was my second favorite show as a child...especially Gary Gnu
and lastly...10 points if you know who the guy in the upper left is (that 10 points means "yes you were a child of the 1970s"
Too much swimming

i forgot? i think?
of those two days off we had on Monday and Tuesday…Tonight is my late
night and Sally is here supervising…which should be weird (I guess
Chris is going to Summerfest). Today I had an appointment this
morning (which went well) ran into someone I used to work with (she
lost 30 lbs and cut her hair off..she looks great) and forgot to put
deodorant on one arm (no idea what the hell make me miss that) so I
have to go buy some at lunch so I don't partially stink. Last night
we watched Syriana (and I still have no idea what it was all about…)
and I watched part of "The Talented Mr. Ripley" this morning (man is
Jude Law smokin' hot in that film.) Ryan suggested I rent Saw II
which is funny because I rented Saw I, never watched it, and returned
it….it just didn't interest me that much (even with Cary Elwes).
Last night Mya must have had a MONSTER of a pee because about 2:30 am
Dale wakes me up and I have to change her sheets (which is impossible
at that hour without waking the other twin up…) and she pretty much
slept like crap until 5:30 when we all got up…and was cranky from that
point on.. They had no accidents yesterday at daycare and are doing
really good in their new room.
We were invited to a birthday party
for a son of a guy Dale when to high school with who's parents live
next door to my Aunt and Uncle (small world) and we are heading to the
zoo next week on Tuesday night!

monday ole!
all in daycare (and on a good note, they have been undercharging me
for Owen for about 3 weeks…not my job to point this out…) so Dale was
able to mow the lawn Friday afternoon. I was able to work on
painting the bathroom. Once again, I'm back to hating the bathroom.
I bought the sand compound/paint crap to put texture on the walls
before I paint. Its like a 2 gallon bucket and the stuff is about as
thick as Oatmeal and about as easy to spread around. I don't have the
right roller to do this with so I have to paint. (sigh) It took at
least 3 hours this weekend (an hour a day) to get the area over the
tub and ALMOST the entire west wall (which is the biggest area that
needs to be done) covered with this slop.
The main problem I have
is its totally messy to do this…and after it dries I have to sort of
rub (?) the wall with my hand to have the sand that got gloppy (?)
flake off…arg. And to add insult to injury…(being that I figured once
Nick was done it would take me a few hours to prep and paint…) my kid
(Malinda) keeps asking (everytime we walk past the bathroom or go into
the bathroom) "Where is the yellow Mommy? Where is it??" & the
texture paint said it needs a week to Cure and 30 days (!) before you
can prime! So my goal of having this fully done before the kids turn
3 (thus making this a 3 year bathroom project) does not look very
possible (unless I kick ass tonight on the painting front…) BAH!
Saturday my mom came over to finish our staining for the front hallway
(another 3 year project in the works) she finished the 2nd coat
yesterday (Sunday) and touched up the painting on the walls where she
had dripped stain. This was also a very stressful thing having her
staining as we couldn't touch the wood (almost impossible to avoid
with the kids and the cat) and it smelled.
Saturday morning we
hung around the house…and I took the kids to Westwood to play in kids
club while I work out. Its funny because Owen and Mya go crazy crying
and stuff when I drop them off, then they don't want to leave when I
come back to pick them up! They like playing in there and I think its
well worth the $6.00 it costs me to have someone watch them for an
hour as they get exposed to new kids and new caregivers…plus hey, I
get to work out which doesn't suck! Then that afternoon we had
Wendy's for lunch and we did some outside time as well.
I went
with Owen and bought a sprinkler for the kids to run through. They
had more fun trying to stop the sprinkler from spinning around and
running around naked. We went to my brothers baseball game (they
lost) and got home late (and wet it rained) picked up a Little
Caesar's Pizza and had the kids go to bed a bit later than normal.
Sunday in the morning Malinda woke up way early and the other two an
hour or so later. We had our breakfast, and hit the store for
shopping @ Pick N Save. We ate enough there in free samples that the
kids weren't even hungry for lunch when we got home. We had them run
under the hose for an hour or so outside until it got too hot and they
went to bed with no problem last night.
I watched the end of "The
Talented Mr. Ripley" last night (not as good a movie once Jude Law
gets killed) and part of "Torch Song Trillogy" which was boring and I
returned without finishing it. I have Junebug @ home (which Ebert
raves about) and I THINK (although am not sure) that I have 3 disc's
of Carnival Season II coming this week…
